Exemplary Schools

Many residents are drawn to Troy by the top-notch Troy public school system. In 2026, Troy Athens High School – the high school destination for most Stoneridge 2 students – was rated within the top 500 high schools in the United States by U.S. News & World Reports.

Wass Elementary School, a Blue-Ribbon National Exemplary school, is located adjacent to Stoneridge Woods, in walking distance for neighborhood children, with multiple playgrounds available after school hours.

Public school students may also attend nearby Larson Middle School and complete their education at Troy Athens. The Troy International Academy (East Campus) features an award-winning International Baccalaureate program.

All are highly rated within the state of Michigan the United States, sending students to the country's top universities, including University of Michigan, Michigan State, Ivy League schools and many others.

In Stoneridge 2, most of the homes were built in the late-1970's thru mid-1980's and feature fireplaces, family rooms, full basements and brick exteriors of that era.

Shopping

The city has over 7 million sq. ft. of retail space and is home to two malls: Somerset Collection (North and South) and Oakland Mall. Almost anything one could want to buy is available somewhere in Troy.

Dining

Troy dining is unmatched by any other city in Southeastern Michigan (save Detroit), with approximately 250 restaurants, with aboout 150 being full service. For the real inside scoop on where to eat, ask your neighbors. The restaurant scene changes rapidly and new options pop up on almost a daily basis!

Indoor Recreation

Adults and children should never be bored in Troy, as the Troy Recreation Department and the Troy Public Library offer so many city-sponsored programs. The library usually offers at least one program per day per month, even in the winter.

The Recreation Department has a year-round catalog of child and adult leagues, sports, activities and learning opportunities. The Troy Community Center is a state-of-the-art multi-use public complex measuring 127,000 sq. ft. It houses a fitness center, pool, banquet spaces, and dedicated community wings all under one roof.
